TOMATO RASAM:

The ingredients used in this recipe are rich in fibre and it is rich in antioxidants. This recipe is good for convalescing patients and is also good for pregnant women. It is rich in vitamin A and C . It keeps our body healthy and contains a wealth of minerals. It is also beneficial to lose weight. Regular consumption of rasam may help keep cancer away. This recipe also encourages digestion.

INGREDIENTS:

•3 tomatoes •a pinch of turmeric •one tsp ready made rasam powder •one tsp salt and one tsp lemon juice •half tsp chopped garlic •one tsp jaggery •one fourth tsp crushed black pepper • tamarind paste 1 tbsp

INGREDIENTS FOR TEMPERING:

• 1 tablespoon oil, a few curry leaves, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, half teaspoon cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida (hing)

METHOD: •Boil chopped tomatoes and add two and a half cup of water, rasam powder, turmeric, garlic, salt and jaggery together for 7 minutes in mediumflame. •Let it cool for some time after sometime blend it and make puree. •Strain the puree. •Take oil in a small pan heat it on low flame after that add all ingredients of tempering . •Add the tempering and one fourth tsp crushed pepper to the puree and heat it for two minutes. •Add lemon juice. Serve it
